Pilates on OFF Broadway is a locally owned business here in Portland, Oregon.

The owner, Sadhna Devi, started the business in 2007 at which time she hired a webmaster to build and maintain her website.

When she decided to move her studio into her home in the early part of 2011, Sadhna's website obviously needed some crucial updating.

Unfortunately, her webmaster had moved away, was hard to reach at times and slow to make the changes when requested.

As such, the website was never updated to her satisfaction, and when I first met Sadhna to discuss her project, like many others being held hostage by their webmasters, she told me that she was "about ready to cry"!

So we set her up with her own hosting account and worked together to rebuilt her entire Pilates on Broadway website using wordpress.

And although it was quite a chore to clean up the mess her former webmaster had left, Sadhna is now in complete control of every aspect of her website and is now able to update and maintain it on her own.

Beaterville Cafe & Bar is a Portland business who asked for help setting up a website that they could maintain themselves.

Not only is the owner, Beater Bill, now in complete control of his website, he is also publishing a weekly email newsletter to announce upcoming music events and cafe specials.

I also helped him to set up a Youtube channel to host his "This Week @ Beaterville" video newsletter!

Funny thing about landing this project is that my band, Facho And Friends, was scheduled to play here and I noticed that we hadn't been added to their upcoming events calendar.

When I called to ask why we weren't listed, I was told it was because they couldn't get a hold of their webmaster to update their calendar.

Needless to say… Beater Bill has fired his previous webmaster and is now in control of his website!

Bhakti Shala Shakti Works is another neat project I've been working on with a local business owner who's been held hostage by her webmaster since 2007!

Obviously the site is still under construction at the time of this writing…

But as you can see, this customer is effectively using video on her home page to encourage visitors to sign up for her email list, as well as to invite guests and organizers around the world into her Web Meet Live meeting room.   

This is an organization dedicated to making great change in the world by crossing cultural boundaries of class, caste, race & colour, as well as feeding and clothing those in need.

And I am proud to have been selected to work on this particular project!

This is a really cool website project I've been working on with Wendy & Mike, the owners of The Birkenfeld Country Store & Cafe, which is located about 70 miles from where I live here in Portland, Oregon.

The theme we selected is called "Adventure Journal"

As you can see, it's got a nice, clean layout, supports custom menus and widgets and has a rustic sort of look… Just like The Birk does!

The owner of PinksMarans.com, Kim, who is know as "Pink" on the backyard chicken forums, started raising chickens in her backyard as a hobby several years ago.

Now she has a part time business selling different breeds of chickens as well as eggs!

I was extremely happy to find out this past weekend that Pink got her first telephone call from someone who found her website and actually bought some chickens from her! And Pink's website has only been online for less than two weeks at the time I am writing this!

This website is brand new. We just started working on ReDoItHomeRepair.com this past weekend.

It will turn out to be a pretty extensive site, and much of the content, photos and videos still need to be added at the time of this writing. Feel free to visit often to see how Re Do It Home Repair progresses.

On a personal note: Rick is a great friend of mine who I used to work with when I was remodeling houses for a living.

In fact, he just finished remodeling my home office, and he does great work. So if you live in Oregon or Washington, and you need some repairs done on your home, Rick's your man!

I was sort of debating (with myself) as to whether or not I should add this here for two reasons..

1. This is my sister's blog, so she's technically not a "client."

And…

2. Unlike the samples above, Portland Insurance Now is a blog and behaves as such. So technically, it doesn't count as a "static website."

But it's a good example of what's possible. So in the end, I decided to go ahead and list it.

If you've got a keen eye for detail, you'll notice that this blog, as well as the Re Do It Home Repair site above use the same wordpress theme.  It's called "Freelance by Studio Press."
